Sri Lanka has changed the face of the match on Day 3 of the ongoing Test match against India. Following the score of 5/2 (4 overs) from Day 2, Sri Lanka team took their score card to a respectable 367 runs, getting a lead of 176 runs for 2nd innings.

On day 3, Sri Lanka started playing at the score of 5/2 with Dhammika Prasad (3) and Kumar Sangakkara (1) at the crease. The team lost another few wickets in quick succession until a partnership of 125 runs formed between Thirimanne and Chandimal. Dinesh Chandimal remained not out and scored 162 runs out of 169 balls. India is leading by 187 runs over Sri Lanka after the Day 2 match in the 1st Test between India and Sri Lanka. SL scored 183 runs in their first innings and India scored 375 runs in their first innings giving a trail of 192 runs. In their 2nd innings, Sri Lanka has already lost two wickets in first 4 overs and scored 5 runs.

Sri Lanka was not in the game from the very first day of the match. Apart from Angelo Mathews (64) and Dinesh Chandimal (59), no one could get a fifty and the first innings were limited for just 183 runs.

Sri Lanka vs Pakistan, 2nd ODI: Sri Lanka won by 2 wkts

The 2nd ODI match of the series was played between Sri Lanka and Pakistan on Wednesday, July 15 at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele. Sri Lanka won this match by 2 wickets in the second last over of the match. The target was of 288 runs.

Kusal Perera has been chosen the Man of the Match for scoring 68 runs in 25 balls. He gave his team the strong start Sri Lanka needed at the time.

Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat and played well. Opener Azhar Ali scored 79 runs of 104 balls and gave a solid base to next players. Shoaib Malik (51) and Mohammad Rizwan (52) scored fifties and Pakistan team, in total scored 287 runs in 50 overs with the loss of 8 wickets. The target was of 288 runs, which was not less in any terms, but Sri Lanka managed to chase it somehow.

Sri Lanka won the match with 11 balls and 2 wickets remaining. The game was in the control of hosts from the moment they started batting until last 10 overs by the time they lost all important wickets. Opener Kusal Perera scored the highest 68 runs in just 25 balls. Dinesh Chandimal (wk), who came at sixth position remained at the crease till the end and took the game back from the jaws of Pakistan.

The first ODI of the series was played between Sri Lanka and Pakistan on Saturday, July 11. Pakistan won the toss and chose to field. Sri Lanka, while playing first, scored 255 runs for loss of 8 wickets in 50 overs. Pak chased the target with 4.4 overs remaining and won the match by 6 wickets.

Sri Lanka batted first and played not bad as all players scored some runs in the total score with the highest contribution from Dinesh Chandimal of 65 runs in 68 balls. The team could score 255 runs in 8 wickets, which didn't team too low at the time. 

Mohammad Hafeez took 4 wickets while Rahat Ali got 2 wickets for Pakistan.

Pakistan chose to field first and ultimately prove their decision right as they won the match by 6 wickets. Mohammad Hafeez scored 103 runs of just 95 balls while Shoaib Malik scored 55 of just 45 balls and also hit the winning six. Pak chased the target in 45.2 overs.

With the help of Misbah-ul-Haq's fifty and Younis Khan's century, Pakistan has won the third and final Test match against Sri Lanka by 7 wickets. Younis Khan (171) and Misbah-ul-Haq (59) remained not out. With this match, Pak has also won the 3-match Test series by 2-1. In the second innings, Pakistan team scored 382 runs for 3 wickets in 103.1 Overs.

Pakistan needed 147 runs on last day with 8 wickets in hand. The team chased the target with 7 wickets remaining. The target was easy, but Pakistani players made it look even easier. The team only lost one wicket today in the form of Masood, who scored 125 runs in 233 balls before he was stumped by Chandimal. Team players must be very happy with their performance on the last day.

Younis Khan has been awarded the Man of the Match for his 171 runs not-out innings. Yasir Shah has been chosen the Man of the Series. Today's victory also marks the highest successful run chase for Pakistan in Test cricket as well as the highest successful run chase ever in Sri Lanka. This is also the first time when a Test match played at Pallekele ended up with a result.

The fourth day of Pakistan vs Sri Lanka 2015 3rd Test is over and Pakistan is playing at 230/2 after 63 overs. The team still needs 147 runs to win this match, which seems not a very hard task with 8 wickets remaining. Sri Lanka scored 313 runs in the 2nd innings.

The 4th day of the third Test between Pak and SL started with Chandimal (39) and Angelo Mathews (77) on crease and SL 228/5. Well, the luck was not on Sri Lanka's side today as the remaining 5 wickets of the team were taken for just 85 runs. Sri Lanka lost its 6th wicket in the form of Chandimal at the score 278 runs. Angelo Mathews (122) was the last wicket. SL could score 313 runs in 26.4 overs today.

A total target of 377 runs was given to Pakistan for its 2nd innings. The second innings of Pak was extremely well with the team scoring 230 runs for 2 wickets on day 4. Shan Masood (114) and Younis Khan (101) contributed 217 runs partnership to take Pakistan to this level. From this point, it seems peace of cake to reach the target.

Third day of the 3rd Test match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka was completely in the favor of the later. After bowling out Pak team for just 215 runs, SL team managed to score 228 runs in 69.4 overs for 5 wickets. Chandimal (39) and Angelo Mathews (77) are still batting for 6th wicket.

Sri Lanka team is now leading by 291 runs over Pakistan team, which scored 215 runs in its first inning. Pak team is yet to play its second inning in this Test match. SL still has five wickets remaining and can score big tomorrow.

The game on day 3 started with Sarfraz Ahmed (72) and Imran Khan (0) on the crease playing for the last wicket for Pakistan's first inning. Pak team could only score 6 more runs for their first inning making a total score of 315 runs.

Day 2 of Sri Lanka vs Pakistan 3rd Test is officially over. Sri Lanka inning ended with a total score of 278 runs. Pakistan team managed to score 209 runs in 64 overs for 9 wickets and is still trailing y 69 runs. Sarfraz Ahmed (72) and Imran Khan (0) will continue batting tomorrow.

Sri Lanka team could only score 6 runs after yesterday's play. Last two wickets fell down in the form of Kaushal and Pradeep with a total score of 278 runs. Dimuth Karunaratne (130) remained the highest scorer for Sri Lankan team. Yasir Shah pf Pak took 5 wickets in total.

Pakistan team sent Shan Masood and Ahmed Shehzad to open their inning, but both couldn't do very well. Masood got lbw after scoring 13 runs of 33 balls. Shehzad was caught by Chandimal at the personal score of 21. Azhar Ali (52) and Sarfraz Ahmed (72) brought the team back in the game and took the total score above 200. Sarfraz Ahmed is still batting with Imran Khan on the other side. Pakistan team scored 209 runs on day 2 after for 9 wickets. The team is still trailing behind SL by 69 runs.

The third and final Test match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka started on Saturday (3rd July) Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. At this point, both Pak and SL teams are at 1-1 in the series and this match is going to decide whether this series ends in a draw or a conclusion. After winning the toss, Pakistan captain chose to field against Sri Lanka. SL team managed to score 272 runs for 8 wickets in their Day 1 game.

Sri Lanka scored 272 runs on the first day of the 3rd Test match. Dimuth Karunaratne (130) played the highest score for the team. Sri Lanka would want to continue their inning for some more overs next day so that the score can at least reach to 350.

Pakistan bowlers did really well on the first day proving that the decision to field was not at all wrong. Yasir Shah took the highest 4 wickets.

The second day game will begin with Kaushal and Suranga Lakmal on the crease. Sri Lanka will expect to do something better from this point.

Sri Lanka vs Pakistan 2nd Test, Day 4: Pakistan lead by 152 runs

The fourth day of the Sri Lanka vs Pakistan 2nd Test is finished and Sri Lanka is now in quite good position after 4th day's match. Pakistan started playing at 171/2 on fourth day and lost their remaining wickets in 59.4 overs composing 158 runs in total on fourth day. The match was stopped because of the rain. Pakistan is now in lead with 152 runs.

Sri Lanka will resume the game on the fifth and last day on Monday. It looks like an easy to chase target with all 10 wickets remaining for Sri Lankan team.

On 4th day of the game, Azhar Ali (64) and Younis Khan (23) were on the crease for opening the Pakistan side. Whereas Ali managed to stay for long and contributed 117 runs of 308 balls for Pakistan score board, Younis Khan was caught at the personal score of 40 runs or 67 balls. Pakistan team managed to score 329 in total after losing all their wickets in 118.2 overs. Now, the team is leading over opposition by 152 runs.

Sangakkara announces retirement from Test after India Series

The legendary Sri Lankan player Kumar Sangakkara has announced that he would retire from Test cricket after the second Test match of India-Sri Lanka Test series scheduled in August 2015. He will also not play the third Test match of the ongoing Pakistan Test series and the two Test matches against India would be his last. Sangakkara is already retired from ODI format of Cricket.

Breaking the long silence about the rumors of retirement, the Sri Lankan player confirmed the news in a special press conference held after the third day's play of the second Test of Pakistan tour of Sri Lanka 2015. Sangakkara also mentioned that he was intended to retire from all forms of cricket after the 2015 Cricket World Cup, but was convinced to play 4 more Test matches by the Sri Lanka's previous selection committee.

"I've had the time of my life playing for Sri Lanka. It has been a great honour. Growing up as a kid, watching players like Aravinda de Silva play for Sri Lanka and then one day to get a chance to play with them. I've thoroughly enjoyed playing every format, but donning the whites for Sri Lanka has been a different feeling altogether. There have been so many ups and downs. I've had bad days as well but the good times outweigh the bad. I know, it's disappointing to say goodbye to something you've done for over 15 years, but I know this is the right time to leave," Sangakkara said.

Sangakkara has been one of the best ODI & Test players of all-time. He currently holds the third position in the ICC Test Batsmen Ranking and second in the ICC ODI Batsmen Ranking. His list of records is quite  long. He debuted his Test career in 2000 and in just 15 years, he managed to score 12271 Test runs, which is also the fifth-highest of all-time in Test cricket format.

The 37-years old Sri Lankan player hit 38 Test centuries that include 11 double-centuries, just one behind Sir Don Bradman's record of 12.

Sangakkara, during the announcement, indicated that he never played for personal records, but always for the country. "If that (personal milestones) is the only driving ambition, then it is time to say 'thank you very much'. I've prided myself in doing well individually, but I should be able to look at my teammates in the eye and say I really went out there for the country and not individual records."

The third day of the 2nd test match between Sri Lanka and Pakistan is officially finished after 62.1 overs played today. Sri Lanka in total scored 315 runs in their first inning. Pakistan played 59 overs on third day and managed to score 171 runs losing 2 wickets. The team is still trailing behind the opponent by 6 runs.

Starting from what left after the day 2 of 2nd test, Sri Lanka team played for 3.1 overs on third day before the final wicket fell down in the form of Dushmantha Chameera (2 of 16). The team scored 11 runs today making a total of 315 runs.

Sri Lanka started playing today morning at the score of 70/1 with Kaushal Silva (21) and Kumar Sangakkara (18) on the field. The second wicket got down in the form of Sangakkara when team was at 98 runs score. Sangakkara got out after making 34 runs. Angelo Mathews (c) was the highest run scorer today with his 77 runs inning in 153 balls. Rangana Herath (10) and Dushmantha Chameera (0) are still on the field. The day 1 at the 2nd Test match between Sri Lanka and Pakistan was quite exciting with Pakistan being all out for 138 runs in just 42.5 overs and Sri Lanka playing on 70 Runs losing one wicket after 32 overs. Kumar Sangakkara and Kaushal Silva are still on the crease from Sril Lanka side who both will continue tomorrow's match.

Pakistan has already won the first match of the 3-Test match series against Sri Lanka. The 2nd Test match started on 24th June and is expected to conclude on or before 29th June.

Pakistan won the toss and captain Misbah chose to bat first, which was clearly not a good decision. The whole team got out at a score of 138 runs in just 42.5 overs. Sri Lankan bowlers did very good with the bowl. Tharindu Kaushal took 5 wickets including of the opener Mohammad Hafeez. Hafeez was the highest scorer from Pakistan team, who scored 42 runs of 75 balls.
