England vs Australia 4th Test, Day 3: England won by an innings and 78 runs

England has won the 4th Test match of the Ashes 2015 series by an innings and 78 runs. Australia lost all 10 wickets in their second innings for 253 runs and lost the match by 78 runs. England has also won the 5-match Test series by 3-1.

Australia were at 241/7 when they started playing on Day 3. The team needed 90 more runs to avoid the innings loss, but could only score 12 more runs before it lost remaining 3 wickets. Stokes took 1 wicket while Mark Wood took remaining two wickets today.

England has won their third match in the ongoing Ashes series and thus, has regained the series in its name. There is one more Test match left to be played in the series that will start on 20th August.

England vs Australia 4th Test, Day 2: Australia trail by 90 runs

After the end of the second day match of the 4th Test of the Ashes series 2015, Australia are still trailing by 90 runs and have already lost 7 wickets. England declared their first innings after scoring 391 runs for 9 wickets in 85.2 overs. Australian team is on the verge of losing the match by inning.

England continued their first innings on day 2 and declared the innings after 85.2 overs and scored 391 runs in total. Joe Root scored 130 runs of 176 balls. England team lost 9 wickets before they declared the innings for 391 runs with a lead of 331 runs over Australia.

Australia was given a trail of 331 runs. In their second innings, Australian team has already scored 241 runs for 7 wickets and is still trailing by 90 runs runs. If Australia manages to cover the trail, they will avoid the innings loss. Mitchell Starc (0) and Adam Voges (48) are still batting.

Bangladesh vs South Africa 1st Test, Day 1: Bangladesh trail by 241 runs

The first Test match between Bangladesh and South Africa is being played at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chittagong. Today was the first day of the match. RSA, while batting first scored 248 runs for loss of 10 wickets. Bangladesh scored 7 runs in 2 overs with loss of no wicket.

South Africa won the toss and chose to bat, but they probably regretted the decision later as the entire team was bowled out for 248 runs in just 83.4 overs. Temba Bavuma (54) was the highest scored for RSA. Not any other player could score even a fifty.

Bangladesh's Mustafizur Rahman took 4 wickets for his team while Jubair Hossain got 3 wickets.

Bangladesh was trailing by 248 runs after RSA's first innings. The hosts played 2 overs of match today and scored 7 runs. Both openers are still at the crease and will continue the game tomorrow.

England vs Australia 2nd Test, Day 3: Australia lead by 362 runs

On third day of the 2nd Test match between England and Australia, England scored 227 more runs and lost their remaining 6 wickets. Australia is now playing their 2nd innings and have already scored 108 runs in 26 runs with no wicket loss. The guests are now leading by 362 runs.

England continued its first innings match from where they left off after 2nd day. Cook was playing at 21 and Stokes at 38 runs. England was 85 for 4. Both Alastair Cook (96) and Ben Stokes (87) played for long and contributed runs for their team, but none other player could play noticeable innings for England. The whole team collapsed for 312 runs.

Both Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Johnson got 3 wickets each for Australia.

When Australia started playing for their second innings, they were already leading by 254 runs. In 26 overs, Australia scored 108 runs and lost no wicket. Both openers Chris Rogers (44) and David Warner (60) are at the crease. The team is now leading by 362 runs.

England vs Australia 2nd Test, Day 2: England trail by 481 runs

The 2nd Test match of the Ashes, 2015 Test series is being played at Lord's stadium, London. The second day of the match is officially over and England (85/4) is trailing by 481 runs behind Australia. Australia scored 566 runs in its first innings.

Australia continued from their first day match with Chris Rogers (158) and Steven Smith (129) at the crease and 337 runs at the scoreboard. The second wicket of Australia fell in the form of Chris Rogers at 362. Rogers and Smith contributed a partnership of 284 runs. Steven Smith, however remained at the crease for longer and scored 215 runs in 346 balls. Australia declared their innings at 566 runs after 149 overs.

Stuart Broad took 4 wickets for England.

England was trailing by 566 runs after Australia's first innings. Adam Lyth and Alastair Cook (c) started England's first innings. Lyth was caught out for 0 runs in the very first over of the game. Cook, however is still batting. England has already lost 4 of their wickets and are now playing at 85 runs. Cook (21) and Ben Stokes (38) are at the crease.

Mitchell Johnson took two wickets while Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood got one wicket each.

The first Test match of the Ashes, 2015 is being played between England and Australia. The 2nd day of the match is over and Australia is trailing by 166 runs and playing at the score of 264/5. England made 430 runs in total in their first innings.

England started today's match at the score of 343/7 where they left off yesterday. Moeen Ali and Stuart Broad continued from their first day's innings. Moeen Ali ended up making 77 runs in 88 balls and was caught by Watson on a ball by Starc. England lost all their 10 wickets at the score of 430 runs in 102.1 overs.

One of the most awaited Test series of the year, The Ashes 2015 has started from today, July 08. The first Test match between England and Australia started today. England won the toss and chose to bat first and scored 343 runs for 7 wickets in 88 overs. Moeen Ali (26) and Stuart Broad (0) are playing for 8th wickets.

The first Test match is being played at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff. England won the toss and Captain Alastair Cook decided to go for bat first. England did well on the first day of the game. The team score 343 runs  losing 7 wickets. Joe Root remained the star of the match with his 134 runs innings in 166 balls. Gary Ballance (61) and Ben Stokes (52) also managed to complete their fifties and gave English team a good score.

England still got 3 wickets in hand and would want to score as much as they can on 2nd day.

From Australia side, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood each took 3 wickets. Josh gave 70 runs in 22 overs with 8 maiden overs. Nathan Lyon also got one wicket in his 17 overs inning.

The biggest partnership was of 153 runs between Gary Ballance and Joe Root for 4th wicket.

Sri Lanka vs Pakistan 3rd Test: Pakistan won by 7 wkts

With the help of Misbah-ul-Haq's fifty and Younis Khan's century, Pakistan has won the third and final Test match against Sri Lanka by 7 wickets. Younis Khan (171) and Misbah-ul-Haq (59) remained not out. With this match, Pak has also won the 3-match Test series by 2-1. In the second innings, Pakistan team scored 382 runs for 3 wickets in 103.1 Overs.

Pakistan needed 147 runs on last day with 8 wickets in hand. The team chased the target with 7 wickets remaining. The target was easy, but Pakistani players made it look even easier. The team only lost one wicket today in the form of Masood, who scored 125 runs in 233 balls before he was stumped by Chandimal. Team players must be very happy with their performance on the last day.

Younis Khan has been awarded the Man of the Match for his 171 runs not-out innings. Yasir Shah has been chosen the Man of the Series. Today's victory also marks the highest successful run chase for Pakistan in Test cricket as well as the highest successful run chase ever in Sri Lanka. This is also the first time when a Test match played at Pallekele ended up with a result.

Sri Lanka vs Pakistan 3rd Test, Day 4: Pakistan need 147 runs

The fourth day of Pakistan vs Sri Lanka 2015 3rd Test is over and Pakistan is playing at 230/2 after 63 overs. The team still needs 147 runs to win this match, which seems not a very hard task with 8 wickets remaining. Sri Lanka scored 313 runs in the 2nd innings.

The 4th day of the third Test between Pak and SL started with Chandimal (39) and Angelo Mathews (77) on crease and SL 228/5. Well, the luck was not on Sri Lanka's side today as the remaining 5 wickets of the team were taken for just 85 runs. Sri Lanka lost its 6th wicket in the form of Chandimal at the score 278 runs. Angelo Mathews (122) was the last wicket. SL could score 313 runs in 26.4 overs today.

A total target of 377 runs was given to Pakistan for its 2nd innings. The second innings of Pak was extremely well with the team scoring 230 runs for 2 wickets on day 4. Pakistan now needs 147 runs with 8 wickets remaining to win this match. The team still got one whole day and 8 wickets in hand. Shan Masood (114) and Younis Khan (101) contributed 217 runs partnership to take Pakistan to this level. From this point, it seems peace of cake to reach the target.

Sri Lanka vs Pakistan 3rd Test, Day 3: SL lead by 291 Runs

Third day of the 3rd Test match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka was completely in the favor of the later. After bowling out Pak team for just 215 runs, SL team managed to score 228 runs in 69.4 overs for 5 wickets. Chandimal (39) and Angelo Mathews (77) are still batting for 6th wicket.

Sri Lanka team is now leading by 291 runs over Pakistan team, which scored 215 runs in its first inning. Pak team is yet to play its second inning in this Test match. SL still has five wickets remaining and can score big tomorrow.

The game on day 3 started with Sarfraz Ahmed (72) and Imran Khan (0) on the crease playing for the last wicket for Pakistan's first inning. Pak team could only score 6 more runs for their first inning making a total score of 315 runs.

Sri Lanka team scored 228 runs for their second inning on day 3. Dimuth Karunaratne (10)  and Kaushal Silva (3) could not do well, but the innings of Upul Tharanga (48) and captain Angelo Mathews (77) were well-deserved. Mathews is still batting along with Dinesh Chandimal, who is now at 39 runs. Sri Lanka is 228 for 5 and will continue on day 4.

Sri Lanka vs Pakistan 3rd Test, Day 1: SL lead by 272 Runs

The third and final Test match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka started on Saturday (3rd July) Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. At this point, both Pak and SL teams are at 1-1 in the series and this match is going to decide whether this series ends in a draw or a conclusion. After winning the toss, Pakistan captain chose to field against Sri Lanka. SL team managed to score 272 runs for 8 wickets in their Day 1 game.

Sri Lanka scored 272 runs on the first day of the 3rd Test match. Dimuth Karunaratne (130) played the highest score for the team. Sri Lanka would want to continue their inning for some more overs next day so that the score can at least reach to 350.

Pakistan bowlers did really well on the first day proving that the decision to field was not at all wrong. Yasir Shah took the highest 4 wickets.

The second day game will begin with Kaushal and Suranga Lakmal on the crease. Sri Lanka will expect to do something better from this point.

Sri Lanka vs Pakistan 2nd Test, Day 5: Sri Lanka won by 7 wkts

Sri Lanka won the 2nd Test match on the fifth day of the match against Pakistan. After 4th day's game, Pakistan gave a target of 153 runs to its opponent, which Sri Lanka team chased in just 26.3 overs with 7 wickets remaining. Dhammika Prasad has been chosen the Man of the Match for his 7 wickets and 35 runs innings. The series yet has 1 Test match left.

With this win, Sri Lanka also records their first win in past 6 years at P Sara Oval, Colombo and they are now equal in the series with 1-1. The captain must be happy with the performance of his team. For Kumar Sangakkara, it was the last match of the series, as the player has already announced his retirement from Test cricket and will be playing last two Test matches in India series.

Sri Lanka team has shown its true colors in the game from the beginning of the first day when they bowled out the whole Pakistan team for just 138. The last day was also not bad as the team played really well to chase the target of 152 runs. They managed to chase down the score in just 26.3 overs with 7 wickets remaining.

The 3rd and final Test match of the series is scheduled to start from 3rd July, 2015 at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele. If Sri Lanka wins this match, it will be their first Test series win since April 2006 at home.

Sri Lanka vs Pakistan 2nd Test, Day 4: Pakistan lead by 152 runs

The fourth day of the Sri Lanka vs Pakistan 2nd Test is finished and Sri Lanka is now in quite good position after 4th day's match. Pakistan started playing at 171/2 on fourth day and lost their remaining wickets in 59.4 overs composing 158 runs in total on fourth day. The match was stopped because of the rain. Pakistan is now in lead with 152 runs.

Sri Lanka will resume the game on the fifth and last day on Monday. It looks like an easy to chase target with all 10 wickets remaining for Sri Lankan team.

On 4th day of the game, Azhar Ali (64) and Younis Khan (23) were on the crease for opening the Pakistan side. Whereas Ali managed to stay for long and contributed 117 runs of 308 balls for Pakistan score board, Younis Khan was caught at the personal score of 40 runs or 67 balls. Pakistan team managed to score 329 in total after losing all their wickets in 118.2 overs. Now, the team is leading over opposition by 152 runs.

Sri Lanka will start its 2nd inning today and have a pretty good chance to win the Test match as the target score is mere 152 runs with 10 wickets remaining.

Sri Lanka vs Pakistan 2nd Test, Day 3: Pakistan trail by 6 runs

The third day of the 2nd test match between Sri Lanka and Pakistan is officially finished after 62.1 overs played today. Sri Lanka in total scored 315 runs in their first inning. Pakistan played 59 overs on third day and managed to score 171 runs losing 2 wickets. The team is still trailing behind the opponent by 6 runs.

Starting from what left after the day 2 of 2nd test, Sri Lanka team played for 3.1 overs on third day before the final wicket fell down in the form of Dushmantha Chameera (2 of 16). The team scored 11 runs today making a total of 315 runs.

Pakistan team has started playing their second inning in the test. Apart from the opener Mohammad Hafeez (8), all 3 players did well today. Other opener Ahmed Shehzad scored 69 out of 154 balls before he was caught by Chandimal on a ball by Dhammika Prasad. Azhar Ali (64) and Younis Khan (23) are still Azhar Ali (64) and Younis Khan (23) are not-out and will continue the Pakistan's inning tomorrow. The team scored 171 runs with the lose of 2 wickets in 59 overs on third day of the Test.

Sachin Tendulkar voted best Test player of 21st century



In an online poll conducted by Cricket Australia’s website, India's legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has been voted as the 'Test player of the 21st century.' The poll was conducted by the website cricket.com.au, which is the official website of Cricket Australia to list out best 100 Test players since 2000.

The former Indian cricket player Sachin Tendulkar received the higher number of votes in the poll to become the best test player of 21st Century. Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara held the second position in the list receiving second highest number of votes. Third position has been occupied by the former Australian cricketer Adam Gilchrist.

Sachin Tendulkar is certainly one of the best cricketers of all-time and now, this online poll has crowned him as the best Test player of this century.

"Tendulkar, the Little Master who remains an iconic figure in the sport, was a runaway winner, while batting giants Ricky Ponting and Jacques Kallis were separated on countback, with the Australian just edging out his Protean counterpart," the website said.

The survey was taken by over 16,000 cricket fans and Sachin managed to get 23 per cent of votes to top the list while Sangakkara got 14 per cent votes to be at the second position. The top 10 Test players list includes only one Indian (Sachin Tendlukar), four Australian, three South African and two Sri Lankan cricketers.

Sachin Tendulkar currently holds the record for the highest number of runs scored in both ODI and Test cricket formats as well as the only player to have hit 100 international centuries.

Day 2 of the Sri Lanka vs Pakistan 2nd Test was quite usual with Sri Lanka team scored 234 runs of 86.2 overs and lost 8 wickets. Sri Lanka is now leading over Pakistan by 166 runs and 1 wicket left.

Sri Lanka started playing today morning at the score of 70/1 with Kaushal Silva (21) and Kumar Sangakkara (18) on the field. The second wicket got down in the form of Sangakkara when team was at 98 runs score. Sangakkara got out after making 34 runs. Angelo Mathews (c) was the highest run scorer today with his 77 runs inning in 153 balls. Rangana Herath (10) and Dushmantha Chameera (0) are still on the field. Sri Lanka team got only 1 wicket left.

Pakistani bowler Yasir Shah took 5 wickets today while giving 95 runs in 40 overs. Junaid Khan, Zulfiqar Babar & Hafeez each got 1 wicket in the match till now.

Tomorrow's game will start with Herath and Chameera playing for the last wicket. Pakistan team has to build a big score in their second inning if they want to stay in the match for the last day.

Sri Lanka vs Pakistan 2nd Test Day 1 Highlights

The day 1 at the 2nd Test match between Sri Lanka and Pakistan was quite exciting with Pakistan being all out for 138 runs in just 42.5 overs and Sri Lanka playing on 70 Runs losing one wicket after 32 overs. Kumar Sangakkara and Kaushal Silva are still on the crease from Sril Lanka side who both will continue tomorrow's match.

Pakistan has already won the first match of the 3-Test match series against Sri Lanka. The 2nd Test match started on 24th June and is expected to conclude on or before 29th June.

Pakistan won the toss and captain Misbah chose to bat first, which was clearly not a good decision. The whole team got out at a score of 138 runs in just 42.5 overs. Sri Lankan bowlers did very good with the bowl. Tharindu Kaushal took 5 wickets including of the opener Mohammad Hafeez. Hafeez was the highest scorer from Pakistan team, who scored 42 runs of 75 balls.

Sri Lanka team batted second and batted really well. Dimuth Karunaratne gave a good start to his team before he was caught by S Ahmed on a ball by Janaid Khan on a personal score of 28 Runs. Kaushal Silva (21) and Kumar Sangakkara (18) are not-out yet.

There is still 4 days of match left and if Sri Lanka team manages to play whole day tomorrow and get a total score somewhere around 400, they can win this test easily.
