Sri Lanka vs Pakistan 3rd Test, Day 1: SL lead by 272 Runs

The third and final Test match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka started on Saturday (3rd July) Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. At this point, both Pak and SL teams are at 1-1 in the series and this match is going to decide whether this series ends in a draw or a conclusion. After winning the toss, Pakistan captain chose to field against Sri Lanka. SL team managed to score 272 runs for 8 wickets in their Day 1 game.

Pakistan Squad: Ahmed Shehzad, Shan Masood, Azhar Ali, Younis Khan, Misbah-ul-Haq(c), Asad Shafiq, Sarfraz Ahmed(w), Ehsan Adil, Yasir Shah, Rahat Ali, Imran Khan

Sri Lanka Squad: Kaushal Silva, Dimuth Karunaratne, Upul Tharanga, Lahiru Thirimanne, Angelo Mathews(c), Dinesh Chandimal(w), Jehan Mubarak, Dhammika Prasad, T Kaushal, Suranga Lakmal, Nuwan Pradeep

Sri Lanka scored 272 runs on the first day of the 3rd Test match. Dimuth Karunaratne (130) played the highest score for the team. Sri Lanka would want to continue their inning for some more overs next day so that the score can at least reach to 350.

Pakistan bowlers did really well on the first day proving that the decision to field was not at all wrong. Yasir Shah took the highest 4 wickets.

The second day game will begin with Kaushal and Suranga Lakmal on the crease. Sri Lanka will expect to do something better from this point.
